Year 2

Ahoy Me Hearties!

In Year 2 our topic for the spring terms is 'Land Ahoy!'

We began our topic with an exciting day filled where we dressed as pirates, followed clues to find the pirate booty (that's treasure to you and me!), created our own fearsome pirate characters and even learned to dance and talk like a pirate!  Aarrrr!

We will also be learning about other seafaring folk, such as Captain James Cook, Grace Darling and, of course famous pirates!

Take a look at our topic web if you want find out more about what we'll be up to!

In art this term we have learning about printing.  We used sharp tools to carve out a design (mind your fingers!) onto a small tile and have had lots of fun printing it using rollers and different colours of ink. It was great fun and very messy!!

We also got to print our tiles onto the whole school BIG print.  Doesn't it look amazing?  Year 2 prints are turquoise.  Can you spot them?
